Medicare Confusion:

Let's talk about how we got here!

Couple

Hello, I’m Elaine, I’m an RN by training. I came into the Medicare space by seeing it from the other side, the healthcare side, as in “care” of “health”. And I did not like what I saw. Instead of people’s care being maximized and medically managed I increasingly felt like I saw it being rationed, and it didn’t feel like the medical people nor the clients were driving the process.
My husband, J Johnson, MSFS, CFP®, CFS® saw it from the financial side. He came at this as a New York University trained Certified Financial Planner™ professional for over 30 years. Yet, as more of his clients successfully reached retirement and had to enter the Medicare system he saw the confusion and anxiety this created. These were smart people but they were now being asked to navigate a system that they never had to deal with before. Many of the decisions they had to make were time limited and carried penalties for error. Some of those penalties could last for a lifetime. And he saw the sheer expense of it. Healthcare could wreck your “wealthcare”. For something that had been paid into for maybe 40 years before using it, it sure seemed pricey all in.

Together we knew there had to be a better way.

Medicare planning needed an advocacy approach.

It needed a fiduciary approach.

From our insistence that there had to be a better way MedEdSeniorSolutions.com came into being within the financial planning firm of Johnson Brothers & Kurios, Inc. (est. 1995).

Our IMO [Independent Marketing Organization] works with all the major providers (and indeed sits on the board of advisors of about a dozen of these companies) but we are clear, we work FOR our clients and with the companies. Not the other way around. Client first! Fiduciary always!

We think we may have “broken the code” as to how to combine “care of health” and “care of wealth”. But you are really the one who decides. Let’s talk.
